March Masquerade Madness

Don't you love having a reason to get all dolled up? I know I do. This weekend a few of my friends who I work with at the University of Edinburgh were hosting a formal masquerade ball for their residents. I have never attended such a party, so I was excited to find a new dress, pick out a sparkly mask, and have a fun night out. For weeks leading up to the event Kristin and I have been on a strict regime of pilates, healthy eating, and working out.  She had her dress custom made for her, and it was fabulous. I was excited because I got my dress on super sale from a fancy dress shop that's based on George Street called Coast.  They have a great dress selection on their website and I have been stalking the sale section ever since I purchased my silver dress. The masquerade ball was an event that was organized for our residential freshman students here at the University, and it was so nice to see them get all dressed up in black tie attire. It's times like these I really realize how amazing it is to work at the University of Edinburgh.  Not only were boys in tux's but kilts were present; gotta love living in Scotland. After a cocktail hour we sat down for our three course meal which was shortly followed by a céilidh. Since I had an early volleyball game the next morning I couldn't stay out too late, but it was a nice way to end the work week.

Check out some of the great shots from the masquerade ball below:

It's going to be another fun filled week here in Scotland. This weekend I have two volleyball games including playoff's. Wish us luck! Until next time, I will see you on the internet.
