Florence - We Crashed the Nester's Honeymoon

So life has been getting in the way of me finishing my recap of our tour of Italy. The final stop on our trip was defiantly the part I was looking forward to the most! We left Venice and headed back to Florence to meet our friends from the US, Chris and Ortie who were there on honeymoon. We couldn't make it to their wedding, so we figured the next best thing was to crash their trip for a few nights! It always feels surreal when you meet close friends abroad, and we had the best time catching up and exploring what Florence had to offer!
First up was ice cream, as it's Ortie's favorite and we had to celebrate our reunion.

After ice cream we headed to our air b n b which Ortie picked out. Emi was loving the bed!

We were also a stone's throw away from the Doma and main square in Florence. It was great to be right in the middle of the action.

We knew we wanted to see the famous David by Michelangelo so we booked tickets in advance and caught this attraction nice and early.

The statue was a lot bigger than I had expected and the museum was just the right size. We spent about 45 minutes wandering around, and with a toddler that is just the right amount of time!

We then spent the rest of the day enjoying the weather and wandering around the city.

Florence is beautiful! We were recommended to visit Pizzale Michelangelo which sits on top of a hill and offers great views of the city.

It was my favorite part of the city!

Emi had a good time too running around the park.

We also visited the famous bridge - The Ponte Vecchio.

And enjoyed more ice cream...

and a street puppet performance.

We really took advantage of the weather and strolled around the city for the remainder of our time. Florence has loads of beautiful sites around every corner.

Florence was the perfect way to end our tour of Italy! I loved seeing the newlyweds and the beautiful sites of the city. Can't wait until we meet again, wherever in the world that may be!

Until next time, I will see you on the internet.
